American currency Account Question

Hi, I’m interested in getting an American currency account that I can put my American paypal money into, and then use that money to buy things with a credit card. Can Canadians get credit cards that don’t charge you for the currency conversion? Also I heard that getting an American currency account is expensive, is this true? Thank you for reading, Biggie.
